Social Work HEALS:
Social Work Health Care Education and Leadership Scholars 2016 Policy Fellow

Janeen Cross,DSW, MBA.Assistant Clinical Professor,Center for Social Work Education, Widener University. PhD, 2015. Dissertation, “Breastfeeding - A Protective Intervention for Child Maltreatment of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Graduates.”

Dr. Cross is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Doctorate of Clinical Social Work Program (DSW). Her doctoral research examined child maltreatment of NICU graduates from a theoretical-conceptual perspective. The next step in her career trajectory is research and evidence-based policy formation.

Currently, Dr. Cross is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Center for Social Work Education, at Widener University and holds leadership positions in the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers and National Perinatal Association. She plans to apply what is learned in HEALS as an organizational leader to develop policy and standards for health care practice. She aims to enhance these skills to more effectively teach policy practice as a faculty member.
