Message from the Campaign Chairs

As social workers, on any given day we work to make a real difference in the life of an individual or in the lives of many. Unfortunately, many in this country and around the world do not fully understand or appreciate the important role social workers have played in working with the most vulnerable in their communities and advocating on behalf of policies and programs to help them. When asked, the average person believes that he or she will never personally need the help of a social worker.

Through the National Social Work Public Education Campaign, we are articulating the value of social work to new audiences and developing new allies. We are very proud of this historic endeavor, and are grateful for the participation of thousands of individuals in this effort.

Your support will help us continue to place Public Education Campaign advertisements; to build and promote the social work information Website at www.HelpStartsHere.org; and to develop and distribute “On Any Given Day,” our new video which presents an overview of the diversity of social work practice.

Remember Help Starts Here; we need and appreciate your support.

Gary Bailey, ACSW
Campaign Chair
Sue Dworak-Peck, ACSW, LCSW
Chair, Campaign Advisory Committee

With special appreciation for the generous support of members of the Honorary Committee.
