Consumer Web Site Authors Interviewed by Major Media


In 2008, journalists have requested interviews with HelpStartsHere.org contributors more than 110 times on a variety of issues addressed on www.HelpStartsHere.org. Here is a sample:

Joanne Baum, MSW, PhD was interviewed in February 2008 by American Baby Magazine for an article about baby bonding. Dr. Baum is the author of the Independent Publisher’s award-winning book, “Got the Baby? Where’s the Manual?”   NASW Executive Director Betsy Clark, PhD, ACSW, MPH was interviewed in February by Consumer Reports Money Advisor for a story on aging parents and long distance caregiving.
Andrea Mills, MSW who teaches financial literacy to children was interview by Black Enterprise Magazine for a story slated for the May edition on teaching children about investing and the stock market.   Susan Shankle, MSW, the author of What in the World Are Your Kids Doing Online? How to Understand the Electronic World Your Kids Live In was interviewed in February by the Palm Beach Post for a story about how parents can keep their kids safe on the social networking web site MySpace.com.
Terrie Williams, MSW, the author of the book Black Pain: It Just Looks Like We’re Not Hurting, was interviewed by Black Entertainment Television in April for an article about black women and depression.   Daniel Buccino, MSW, ACSW, was interviewed for a Washington Post Magazine cover story about how much mothers should reveal to their children about past indiscretions that was published on May 4, 2008.

Eating disorders expert Judith Matz, MSW, the author of The Diet Survivor’s Handbook: 60 Lessons in Eating, Acceptance and Self-Care, was interviewed in April for an article about the psychology of hunger for the Martha Stewart magazine body + soul.
