Eileen Kelly International Social Work Program

The Eileen Kelly International Social Work Program builds strong relationships with international social work colleagues and organizations through exchange programs with NASW. The program is a tribute to Eileen McGowan Kelly, a dedicated social worker and catalyst for NASW's presence in the international social work arena.  Through her global perspective on social work issues, she developed important alliances with social workers worldwide.  Professional social work organizations were created and strengthened in several countries, including Romania and Russia, as a result of her efforts.

Eileen Kelly's commitment to the profession continues today through new international projects sponsored by the program. NASW's Peace and International Program, founded by Kelly, benefits from partnerships with NASW chapters, international universities and organizations, and social workers throughout the world who share the vision of a global community.

Creating innovative international projects and expanding the network of information exchange increases the visibility and credibility of the profession, both domestically and abroad.
