The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Project: Linking Empowerment, Growth, Advocacy, And Caring For 50 Years

The L.E.G.A.C.Y. Project was created in 2001—its goal, to develop a comprehensive, long-range effort to preserve and promote NASW’s rich history. Over the years a variety of small-scale efforts have been launched to reserve NASW’s historical record.

As NASW nears its 50th anniversary in 2005, it has become increasingly clear that a much more focused strategy is necessary. The Foundation, currently, is in the preliminary stages of this new effort, and will work toward achieving its long-range goals: to develop a sustained strategy, and hire a professional archivist, who will enable NASW to identify and preserve the photographs, books, papers, and other documents that will tell and re-tell the NASW story for many decades to come.

As of April 30, 2002, the L.E.G.A.C.Y. Project has raised $11,461. Make a contribution to the L.E.G.A.C.Y. Project!
