Friedhilde H. Milburn
Friedhilde H. Milburn, MSW, CSW, has 30 years of experience in the field of aging and social services in New York City. She is founding president of the West Side Federation for Senior Services and Housing, the West Side One Stop for Coordinated Senior Services, and Health Advocates for Older People in Manhattan. She served for 20 years as executive director for James Lenox House, a Mitchell Lama, 100-unit apartment residence for independent seniors in Manhattan. She has been a board member of the National Council on the Aging and chair of the National Institute on Senior Housing. A leading advocate for senior housing programs, she speaks regularly on community based long-term care and aging in place at many national and international conferences.
Her vision of older adults living in the community as long as possible, whether in their own homes with support, in an independent living residence, or in an enriched living residence with full access to all other cultural and other activities the community offers, has been realized.
