Bereavement Training Curriculum for Social Workers in Emergency Departments

Social Workers in Emergency Departments will be implemented in the coming year with a $95,195 grant awarded by the Health Resources Services Administration, Maternal and Child Bureau and its Emergency Medical Services for Children Program. The curriculum was developed in FY 2000-2001 with funding from HRSA.

The purpose of the curriculum is to prepare social workers in emergency rooms to assist families who experience the loss of a child due to accident or illness. This contract will enable NASW to implement the curriculum by providing training in 15 NASW Chapters.
