Willard C. Wichers Ethics
Education Program
The Willard C.
Wichers Ethics Education Program underwrites educational initiatives
and presentations on social work ethics through symposia at
NASW conferences; and continuing education and training models
for chapters. The symposia advance ethics education through
open dialogue about critical ethics issues.
The program has sponsored symposia addressing issues such
as Ethics and Boundary Issues and Ethical Issues
and Managed Care. Recently, a forum on technology and
maintaining ethical practice was held at the Social Work 2000
conference.
The program was created by Elizabeth DuMez to honor her father,
Willard C. Wichers, a dedicated public servant whose life
epitomized ethical sensibility. The Wichers Program serves
as a testament to the foundation of the social work profession's
principles and values. At the same time, it recognizes the
need for respect and a better understanding of their impact
on social work practice
