Opioid Response Network

The Opioid Response Network (ORN) is funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and led by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP). ORN is a coalition of 40+ national professional organizations providing evidence-based training and education (known as technical assistance or TA) in the prevention, treatment, and recovery of opioid and stimulant use disorders, and other co-occurring substance and psychiatric disorders.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the NASW Foundation are part of the ORN coalition of national organizations helping to build sustainability, expand the workforce, and promote evidence-based practices in the substance use field. Our work with ORN includes creating trainings and resources for social workers to build their knowledge and capacity on substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, treatment, and recovery.

Watch this NASW webinar with ORN’s Co-Director to learn more about ORN’s work, what types of technical assistance are available, and how social workers can access support for their organizations and communities, as well as share their own experience and expertise by becoming ORN consultants. Learn how social workers can play a key role in expanding effective, sustainable SUD services through training, consultation, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
