Congratulations to Ambassador Wendy Sherman!

The NASW Foundation is very pleased to extend congratulations to Ambassador Wendy R. Sherman on her nomination by President-elect Joe Biden to serve as Deputy U.S. Secretary of State. Originally a social worker, she is a professor and diplomat who served as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs from 2011 to 2015. Ambassador Sherman was part of the team that led to successful negotiations of the Iran nuclear deal during the Obama Administration.

Foundation Board Member Lorraine Cole Receives People's Choice Award

NASW Foundation Board Member, Lorraine Cole, PhD, is a 2020 recipient of the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America People’s Choice Award. Dr. Cole and Corvelli McDaniel, U.S. Department of the Treasury employees, were honored with this award Also called the “Sammies” and known as the “Oscars” of government service, the award recognizes the duo for creating and leading Treasury’s Bank Mentor-Protégé Program....
